Bulbasaur, you goof.
For a while I was considering joining the pokémonathon, so I whipped up a batch of pokémon to stoke myself up. Then I realized that it would be ridiculously irresponsible of me to commit myself to such a huge endeavor when I already update so infrequently. So instead of making a pledge to draw all 151 original pokémon on the pokémonathon, I’ll just post a few of them here.

Another pokémon remix.
Since the canonical magmar is so bumbly and goofy looking, I wanted to see how far I could take him in the opposite direction. I stumbled upon this aged shaman look while playing around with the frilly/tiled texture on magmar’s arms and pondering the Karura (which apparently inspired the original design), and I though it got the job done. It also turns out fire’s pretty fun to draw.
Between this guy and gengar, I’m really disappointed in my ability to come up with interesting and plausible poses for characters. I have no idea why magmar would stand like that.

It’s finals time again, so naturally I decided to procrastinate by doodling some pokémon “remixes.” Here’s an attempt at the original ghost family, drawn with lanterns and oni in mind.
Note: I drew a “scary clown” Gengar a while back, with very different sources of inspiration
